Our current times in education require teachers to possess more than the literacy of the content topics they teach. To understand our world, including the world of education and the changes needed for all to thrive, acquiring Racial Literacy is key. Racial literacy in schools includes the ability to read, write about, discuss and interrupt situations and events that are motivated and upheld by racial inequity and bias. This workshop leverages the unique Archaeology of Self™ approach to guide participants through a process of self-exploration, critical reflection, and actionable change. Participants are invited to:
● Uncover personal biases and beliefs by delving into their own experiences and stories.
● Gain the tools and knowledge to effectively discuss and address issues of race and racism.
● Learn to see the world through multiple perspectives as way to foster empathy and understanding.
● Apply what they learn at the workshop to create more inclusive, equitable environments in their personal and professional life.
